Tax Law Updates
Here's what's new for our clients — we'll add new articles here whenever significant tax law changes take effect. The latest update always appears first.
LATEST UPDATE · September 2026
What the One Big Beautiful Bill Act changes for 2026 filings
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act, signed into law in 2025, brought several changes that affect 2026 tax filings: a higher standard deduction and Child Tax Credit, a SALT deduction cap raised to $40,000 (subject to income phase-outs), a permanent Section 199A qualified business income deduction, restored 100% bonus depreciation for qualifying business property, and new deductions for qualified tips and overtime pay. There's also a temporary additional deduction for taxpayers 65 and older, and higher reporting thresholds for 1099-K and 1099-NEC forms. Not all of these will apply to every client — we'll flag the ones that matter for your return.
More updates will be added here as tax law changes — check back periodically, or ask us directly if you have a question about how a change affects you.

Log in to your Client Portal, upload your most recent tax return, and we'll tailor an organizer just for you — a simple checklist that tells you exactly what we'll need. We make it simple!
How do you bill for tax preparation?
Tax prep is billed per return, priced by its complexity — never by the hour. Clients regularly tell us we're more competitive than the big chains, while being more professional and more knowledgeable. It's our specialty.
Do you work with clients outside of Southern California?
Yes. We work with individuals and businesses across California and across the country, and can meet by phone or video for anyone who isn't local.
